Ascot Vale Soccer Club (1 Votes)  Description: The Club was established in 1984 as Keilor United. In more recent times, due to municipality boundary relocations, a name change has seen it become known as the Avondale Heights Soccer Club. The Club started as part of the Victorian Amateur Soccer Association (VASA), and won the Team of the Year award in its first year of participation. Two years later, it was able to join the Victorian Soccer Federation (VSF), and has been part of the VSF since. Although there have been joys and triumphs throughout its history, it has only been in the last four years that the Club has begun to shape itself as a modern and successful organisation. Avondale Heights S.C. Won two successive premierships in the years 2000 and 2001 Coached by John Colangeli Snr. Assistent Coach Theo Christoforou, and was promoted from Provisional League Division 3, to Provisional League NW Division 1. The team finished third in 2002, just missing out on promotion to the Victorian State League. In 2006 Avondale Heights came runners up from Prov. 1 N/W and was promoted to State League Division Three N/W team coached by Norm Mancuso. With the establishment of Junior Soccer teams and the formation of a Womens team in 2002, the Club has achieved one of its fundamental objectives and has indeed become a truly broad based community organisation. While we reaffirm the "national arena" to be our long term objective, our immediate targets are: State League Two for the Senior Men's team Expansion of Junior teams to include all age levels Currently, we have two Senior Mens teams, and eight Junior teams.
